Join Our Board of Trustees

Wanted – women who want to make a difference in the lives of survivors of sexual violence and abuse 

The Star Centre aims for a society where everybody is free to live without the threat of sexual violence. 

We are currently looking for new trustees to join our board of directors to help us continue making a difference to survivors. You will be joining the Board at a pivotal time for the organisation as we welcome a new service manager and look forward to developing a new strategic plan.

We’re looking for women who share our values and can add to the skills mix of our current trustees. We would particularly welcome applicants who have skills and experience in any of the following areas: 

• Developing strategy
• Monitoring and evaluation
• Financial Management
• HR experience

We are always keen to improve the diversity of our Board and welcome applications from women from black and ethnic minority and/or disability communities. We are also keen to hear from those who have used our services in the past.

The expected time commitment is full preparation for 10 trustee meetings a year, plus a development day and ad hoc input as required.

In return for joining our board we will provide you with: 

• A full induction, including relevant training and mentoring;
• The chance to develop new skills and make a difference to survivors of sexual violence and abuse;
• Expenses for travel costs you incur in the role.
